….also, just wanted to share that this is the first time I have ever really understood what and how it truly means that we are able to share and participate in the sufferings of Christ! Thank you again for sharing this post with us.

Yes…thank you for your vulnerability and sharing with us what it truly means to share in and participate in Christ’s sufferings.

That each one of us, being and belonging to His Body…that our own individual sufferings are being carried in Christ’s body through each of us…He is Emmanuel, “God with us”, continuing to “suffering with us”…being known as our Compassionate God! So beautiful…thank you!

ahhhh. I am only recently beginning to be able to visualise being part of Jesus. I love the word fragment -

Sorrow is soft. suffering is sharp. companionship is essential on these, difficult, exhausting voyages. Thank you.

So well said, thank you: Sorrow is soft. Suffering is sharp. companionship is essential

Thank you Jason. I really appreciate your transparency and candor in this post.

So refreshing to hear that the question is not “What should I learn from the suffering?“ Or that the suffering is from God. Both are the unhealthy “American way” of dealing with suffering. Some “whys” are never answered.

I have come to believe that our sovereign foundations, those aspects of our lives where we had no choice in experiencing, shape us. Our families of origin include race, location, nationality, growing up environments such as rural, urban, suburban, blue collar, or white collar, historical events that influenced our psyche, tragic events like the loss of a loved one or catastrophe of some sort, everything from birth order to genetic inheritances, all shape our identity.

“Our past and experiences may have shaped who we are, but we are accountable for who we become.” Harry Petsanis

Thanks, Jules. We are accountable, and Christ offers a way with those 'sovereign fundings'. His, humanly were like ours, becoming nothing to lift us up with him, in him.

Thank you for writing and explaining about our suffering in a way where it is not something we need to hide and how we can gain comfort knowing Jesus is in it with us. It is something special you have written here that can be shared as a gift to others we know are suffering. Thank you

Thank you for this. And thank you for your vulnerability and honesty, that helps me and others experience being in Christ, and Christ in us.
